Automated access control regime integrates into employee clocking technology

The Lexington Building Water Tower in Tower Hamlets is one of the sites being considered to house surface-to-air missiles as part of a huge Olympics security exercise. Other sites in the capital include the Fred Wigg Tower in Waltham Forest, east London; Blackheath Common; and Oxleas Wood, both in south-east London; William Girling Reservoir in Enfield; and Barn Hill in Epping Forest. East London resident Brian Whelan said firing the missiles “would shower debris across the east end of London”.

When an attempt is made to pass through an access point, the scanner will compare that employee’s security profile with the access point’s profile, which is based upon the day and time of day of the attempted access. The door will then be released if the employee has access rights.
