Retail giant Tesco could be fined as much as £10,000 per illegal worker after an investigation at the firm’s Croydon warehouse last month. Border Agency members received information that some staff were breaking working rules at Tesco.com on Factory Lane. A statement read: “In response officers carried out an operation in full cooperation with the company shortly after 3am on Saturday 21 July, 2012.” Tesco said: “In co-operation with Tesco, the UK Border Agency visited our dot com store in Croydon in July.”
