London Underground (LU) condemned union moves to ballot for a festive strike. LU chief operating officer Howard Collins said: “It would be quite wrong for the Aslef leadership to ballot for industrial action while we remain engaged in discussions to resolve this issue.” Mr Collins added that after “positive discussions” with union representatives a proposal was on the table regarding the sticking point of Boxing Day working. He said LU has further reviewed Boxing Day service arrangements as an act of good faith.
