2,400 new properties to be built in new £24.7m Wokingham scheme
The Wokingham Borough Council, in partnership with the University of Reading, managed to secure an investment of £24.7m for the university’s proposed 200,000 sq ft Science and Innovation Park south of the M4 as well as 2,400 new properties.
Furthermore, beside providing more housing space, this project is estimated to create around 780 new jobs, a report suggests.
Councillor David Lee, leader of Wokingham Borough Council, said: "This funding follows on from the borough’s success in recently securing £2.5m support from Central Government for its drive to ensure good quality housing developments that are accompanied by the right infrastructure.
Given the specifics of such a huge undertaking, it’s quite clear that the building contractor or contractors will employ a fairly numerous staff, and the best way of managing this rather large workforce is via one of the comprehensive solutions provided by Time & Attendance South East.
Our systems are user-friendly, innovative and designed for the working environment. They also offer a wide array of features, such as support for contactless smart cards (which would really come in handy in a busy, dusty construction environment), as well as optional finger print biometrics and mobile phone SIM card support.
Moreover, the multi-user, networked, multi site Time and Attendance, Access Control, Fire Roll Call and security system includes European Working Time Directive checking and reporting and allows administrators to save up to 2000 employees, supports extensive shift management and payroll-related operations, the allocation of various pay bands, and much more.
