Gatwick Airport’s railway station to undergo £50m redevelopment
Gatwick Airport’s railway station is set to undergo a £50m redevelopment process as a part of an ample infrastructure development plan in the area, a news report in the local business media has revealed.
The scheme will run over the next 20 years, will also confirm an agreed UK guarantee the £1bn Northern Line extension to Battersea in London.
Katja Hall, CBI chief policy director, said: "With some estimates suggesting that the South East’s airports could be full by 2025, this upgrade will help us make the most of our existing capacity.
"We’ve been calling for a more focused approach on infrastructure projects and look forward to seeing the fourth National Infrastructure Plan.”
The National Infrastructure Plan will invest approximately £375bn in energy, transport, communications and water projects.
Considering the sheer size of this redevelopment project, there’s quite a clear and present need to implement a very strict and solid time and attendance and access control solution for all the sub-contractors that will ultimately get involved, and that’s specifically where Time & Attendance South East can help.
Our systems are user-friendly, innovative and designed for the working environment. They also offer a wide array of features, such as support for contactless smart cards (which would really come in handy in a busy, dusty construction environment), as well as optional finger print biometrics and mobile phone SIM card support.
Moreover, the multi-user, networked, multi site Time and Attendance, Access Control, Fire Roll Call and security system includes European Working Time Directive checking and reporting and allows administrators to save up to 2000 employees, supports extensive shift management and payroll-related operations, the allocation of various pay bands, and much more.
