Public services provider wins MoD contracts potentially worth up to £1.7bn
Public services provider Amey has managed to win two contracts potentially worth up to £1.7bn from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) as part of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation’s (DIO) ‘Next Generation Estate Contracts’ programme to maintain and upgrade defence infrastructure.
However, Amey has not managed to win the contracts by itself, but rather as a part of a joint venture with Carillion, a news report in the local business media has recently revealed. Under the agreement, the joint venture will provide a range of hard facilities management services, including routine maintenance, occupancy management, furniture installation, energy efficiency services, statutory inspections and improvements for more than 49,000 military houses throughout the UK.
The national prime housing contract is estimated by the MoD to be worth about £625m over the initial five-year period, which can be extended by a further five years subject to approval.
Amey, which employs more than 19,000 staff across the UK, last month reported an eighth consecutive year of growth following several large scale contract wins and a £385m acquisition.
Without a doubt, every company that plans to develop its business up to a point where it can successfully bid for contracts of this magnitude should also implement a solid and reliable workforce management system beforehand, and this is specifically where Time & Attendance South East can help.
We supply an extensive range of time and attendance and access control systems that are user-friendly, innovative and designed for the working environment. Our systems also offer a wide array of features, such as support for contactless smart cards (which would really come in handy in a busy, dusty construction environment), as well as optional finger print biometrics and mobile phone SIM card support.
Moreover, the multi-user, networked, multi site Time and Attendance, Access Control, Fire Roll Call and security system includes European Working Time Directive checking and reporting and allows administrators to save up to 2000 employees, supports extensive shift management and payroll-related operations, the allocation of various pay bands, and much more.
