Interserve profits soar following facilities services business acquisition

Profits for support and construction services group Interserve have jumped to more than £1.3bn following the acquisition of Rentokil’s facilities services division, a news report in the business media was able to reveal.

The company recorded strong organic growth, particularly due to the improving demand in the UK construction market.

Moreover, its support services arm was further boosted in March when Interserve completed a deal to buy Initial Facilities from Rentokil which added an additional 25,000 staff to its ranks in the UK, Ireland and Spain.

The acquired business provides a range of facilities services including cleaning, catering, security, mechanical and electrical building maintenance and energy management. Since the purchase, Interserve said Initial has traded in line with expectations and its integration is "progressing as planned".
