Up to 100 new warehouse jobs set to be created in Wallingford

Up to a total of 100 new jobs could be created in Wallingford if plans to build a new distribution centre and headquarters building for an Oxfordshire-based textile manufacturer get the green light, a recent news report in the local business media was able to reveal.

According to documents submitted as part of a planning application to South Oxfordshire District Council, the new development will feature a 119,480 sq ft distribution/warehouse unit to be used by "an international textile manufacturer and distributor".

The development will be built on land at the junction of Hithercroft Road and Bosley Way and also looks to construct second floor office and trade showroom accommodation of 30,000 sq ft together with a two-storey headquarters office building totalling 17,431 sq ft.

A minimum of 50 new jobs could be created on the site on completion, with a further 50 over the next five years.
