Manufacturer set to relocate for growth, job creation

Companies planning to move to new premises in order to enable further growth and job creation should also consider reviewing their existing time and attendance and access control systems, with one of the latest examples coming from Queen's Award-winning manufacturer Harvey Water Softeners.

The company has revealed plans to relocate to a new facility in Woking in a move with the potential to create 150 jobs, which would make it the first business planning to relocate to the proposed Fairoaks Garden Village, a news report in the local media has been able to reveal.

A family business, based in Woking since 1978 and currently situated in Old Woking, Harvey Water Softeners provides jobs for 250 people and is one of the area's largest manufacturers. As well as enabling existing staff to keep their jobs, a local move to Fairoaks Garden Village will enable the company to expand and create upwards of 150 new positions.

Harvey Bowden, founder of the company, said: "We are bursting at the seams in our Old Woking factory so are absolutely delighted with this local opportunity for a brand new state-of-the-art facility at Fairoaks Garden Village.

"We also like the idea of staff living nearby in the village as we find this arrangement has worked well in the past."

Ian Cox, managing director of Fairoaks Garden Village Ltd, added: "This is fantastic news, we are proud to have a wonderful expanding local business on site, that offers so much for the area. Local people will benefit from much-needed new jobs.

"We encourage other businesses — existing or new — to use Fairoaks Garden Village as their landmark location to expand, grow and build-up their business."
