1,500 new homes to be built as part of new development in Medway
Work has started on a major development in Medway that, when completed, will see 1,500 new homes being built in the area, accompanied by a new primary school, leisure facilities, office space, shops and restaurants.
The Rochester Riverside redevelopment is led by the Medway Council in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency.
The 1’st step in this development is a new 74-home housing proposal that, if granted planning permission, will see Bellway Homes Ltd. develop up to 74 new homes, made up of 46 three and four bedroom properties and a block of apartments with the potential for a cafĂ© and restaurant on the ground floor.
Leader of Medway Council Rodney Chambers said: "The first Rochester Riverside masterplan was adopted in 2003 but since then, and with a recession, much has changed.
"With signs of recovery appearing, now is the right time for us to re-examine the original masterplan not least because we recognise that the market demand has changed from apartments to a greater emphasis on family homes.
"These changes in demand have been reflected in the revised masterplan and we will be asking the public for their views as part of the consultation process.
"With the announcement of Bellway as the preferred developer of the Stanley Wharf site we look forward to offering further sites to the market as part of the regeneration along the river."
Any company, regardless of its size, that’s actively involved in the construction sector and manages to successfully carry out various refurbishment works should also seriously consider the implementation of a very strict and solid time and attendance and access control solution for all the employees and sub-contractors that will ultimately get involved in its projects, and that’s specifically where Time & Attendance South East can help.
Our systems are user-friendly, innovative and designed for the working environment. They also offer a wide array of features, such as support for contactless smart cards (which would really come in handy in a busy, dusty construction environment), as well as optional finger print biometrics and mobile phone SIM card support.
Moreover, the multi-user, networked, multi site Time and Attendance, Access Control, Fire Roll Call and security system includes European Working Time Directive checking and reporting and allows administrators to save up to 2000 employees, supports extensive shift management and payroll-related operations, the allocation of various pay bands, and much more.
