Construction equipment retailer to expand, create new jobs

An Aldermaston-based retailer of construction and earth-moving equipment is set to expand its operations and create new jobs after securing £1.3m in funding, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

Berkshire-based Promac Solutions is the largest dealer by volume of South Korean manufacturer Doosan’s machines in Europe. It now operates from a purpose-built 15,000 sq ft facility and has been able to significantly expand the parts, service and extended warranty side of its business. Promac now employs 40 staff with a turnover of over £30m.

The funding from Santander will be used to increase stock and facilitate the company’s growth strategy, which will include expanding the mobile workshops above the existing ten already in place, hiring additional staff and expanding to an additional parts and service depot in North Kent.

Founder Grant Linton said: "Choosing to be Doosan dealers seven years ago proved to be an inspired decision. Since then our business has seen exponential growth and we are now heading steadily towards our goal of becoming a £60m business.

"The funding from Santander has allowed us to invest in new stock and expand our operations and we will soon be hiring additional staff members as a result."
