Miller Construction to build 13 new schools across the South East
Miller Construction, a company based in Guildford and a member of the IESE (Improvement and Efficiency South East) framework, was chosen as the preferred contractor for delivering no less than 13 schools across the South East area, a news report on the matter reveals.
This framework was selected by the Property Services Cluster – a partnership between Surrey County Council, Sussex County Council, Reading Borough Council and Hampshire County Council – to deliver a total of 30 schools in construction work valued at approximately £100m.
Miller Construction’s contract has a total value of more than £48m and work will be split into two different phases, the first one involving the remodelling, refurbishment, external works and demolition of three schools, including Boxgrove Primary School in Surrey, and the second one initially requires pre-construction services on ten schools in Surrey – De Stafford Primary, Cranmere Primary, Stamford Green Primary, Esher High School, Hurst Park Primary, Redhill, Langshott Primary, Horley NE, Holmesdale Infant School and Earlswood Junior.
Chris Webster, chief executive at Miller Construction, said: "We have a proven track record in the education market and we are confident the schools we deliver as part of this framework will leave behind a positive legacy for the pupils who will use them."
