A tribunal found that Barnet Council had failed to comply with section 188 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992, and regulation 13 of the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006. Protective awards of 60 days have been made by the Watford tribunal to 150 workers at Barnet Council. The response from the council was: “Our understanding is that Barnet is just one of many employers potentially facing a legal challenge on this issue.”
