Two South East enterprise zones to get funding boost
Two special enterprise zones in the South East have managed to secure a share of a £100m fund announced by the government to help stimulate growth, with the money going towards basic infrastructure that will turn dormant sites into prime economic land.
According to a news report in the local business media, the two areas who benefited from the extra funding are the Solent Enterprise Zone at Daedalus and Science Vale in Oxford. The first zone has been provisionally awarded £7.09m to construct more than 1 km of new road and remediate contaminated land, while Science Vale in Oxford has also secured up to £7m to build a 40,000 sq ft of highly specialised laboratory and bioscience innovation hub that will create 370 new jobs.
"As part of our long term economic plan, we are backing business and enterprise right across the country, helping town centres and local industries to prosper, and building a stronger economy," said communities secretary Eric Pickles.
"This money for infrastructure will transform acres of enterprise zone land and build a stronger, more competitive business environment that will create up to 3,000 jobs for hardworking people across the country."
The implementation of investment schemes made possible by these supplementary funds will likely result in the creation of quite a large number of new jobs across numerous companies, and this is specifically where Time & Attendance South East can help.
We supply an extensive range of time and attendance and access control systems that are user-friendly, innovative and designed for the working environment. Our systems also offer a wide array of features, such as support for contactless smart cards (which would really come in handy in a busy, dusty construction environment), as well as optional finger print biometrics and mobile phone SIM card support.
